Happy 3rd birthday to Logan!!

The happiest of happy birthdays to my little Logan Roberto! Can't believe he's THREE years old. Time has just flown by and we are loving every minute!

We had a little mostly family party for him while we visited home and he was over the moon. Daniel and I picked up 30 balloons (which, by the way, is seriously an astronomical amount of balloons, they barely all fit in the car) to surprise him with. He loved being doted on by grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and a couple of close friends. My little social butterfly adores attention! :) I'm so glad the weather was great and everyone was able to come, thank you!

A little bit about 3 year old Logan:

His personality is changing every day, but right now I would describe him as lovable, sweet, kind, super energetic, strong willed (as are most toddlers!), vocal, and smart (has a great memory for the things that he wants to remember!).

His favorite toys and things to do: Disney Cars (duh!), games of any kind (matching games, puzzles, etc), riding bikes & basketball, crafts, Legos, and Playmobil/Little People houses.

He loves to eat: Chipotle rice bowls, pig in a blankets, salad with oil and vinegar dressing, Panera's soup, toast, cheese crackers, apples, yogurt, cheetos, carrot sticks & broccoli trees with ranch, peanut butter & jelly dinosaur sandwiches, and chips & salsa.

His favorite shows/movies: Cars 2, Blues Clues, SuperWhy, Mater's Tall Tales, and Amazing Alphabet & Numbers by Leapfrog.

Favorite books: Just my mom & me, any Cars book, Polar Bear Polar Bear What do you hear?, Little Blue Truck, Animal Zoo, More Spaghetti I Say, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom.

December Loganisms

I had just walked in the door after a trip to Publix (sans Logan), and he gave me a hug and said, "I was worried about you, Mommy!"

We were leaving the park one morning...
Me: come on Logan!
L: wait, I want to pick you a flower!
<3

As Logan opens his birthday present from us (a Playmobil 1-2-3 house):
L: this looks just like Playmobil!
Me: that's because it is Playmobil!
L: this is Playmobil?
Lol, poor guy was so confused on how Playmobil could end up in his house!

Me: I have a special treat for you for your birthday!
L: what is it?
Me: a cupcake for after dinner!
L: a moose muffin?
He called them 'moose muffins' last month, but I thought that was a one time thing...apparently not, lol!

Logan loves to sing. Tonight he sang "the Itsy Bitsy Spider" that crawls up the "Blake-spout." Hmm, guess he's heard me sing the remix version to Blake quite a few times now! ;)

Logan is turning 3!

Tonight is the eve of my big man's 3rd birthday party. So hard to believe that I will actually have a THREE year old! Daniel and I just spent the evening eating tacos & margaritas at La Bamba (not really a whole lot different from Logan's actual birthday eve, minus the margs of course!) and picking up 30 (!!) balloons for our little man. Can't wait to see the look on his face tomorrow! :)

I'm gonna work on finishing Logan's birth story (only three years late, haha) in time for his actual birth day. Woohoo!

Is this week over yet?

Ay yi yi. Attack of the yearly stomach virus over here. The other night Logan woke up screaming (thank goodness Shayna had stayed over or I never would have heard him since I only had one baby monitor on!) and had puked everywhere (sorry for the visual!). I then stayed up with Logan until a little past 3:30 until he finally fell asleep again, until 6 am when he woke up again. It was a very long day and my poor little man was miserable! Thank goodness Blake and I haven't caught it (yet, still keeping my fingers crossed). Since the virus's arrival, we've been cooped up in the house watching movies and doing crafts. Can we say cabin fever?!

Logan quotes for the week:

(While watching the Disney movie intro for a Tinkerbell movie):
L: wow, Tinkerbell has a castle just like Go-Go's (Francesco's)!

(Picks up a French fry):
L: is this a fishing pole?
(Proceeds to fish for food)

(Feels Remy's back)
L: there's bones in there!
(Feels his own ribs)
L: there's bones in there too!

Birthdays & Christmas, oh my!

My babies are growing up, sniff sniff. Yesterday marked Blake's 11 month birthday, and today is one week away from Logan's 3rd birthday. How can it be that we are only one month out from having a 3 year old and a 1 year old?! Some days it really does feel like the time goes by way too quickly. I feel like I should treasure each moment this year, even the hard ones, since we're hoping to send Logan to preschool next fall and that signifies the end of our full time togetherness :( I'm so excited for him to start that phase in his life (he is SUCH a social butterfly so I just know he is going to love school), but sad at the same time since it means that my baby boy is growing up and spending time away from me. Anyways, sheesh, enough talk about that...the holidays make me sappy.

Speaking of holidays, we just got the tree all decorated tonight! It's a bit of a smish smash of ornaments and lights. I had to let go of my usual OCD tree decorating and let Logan just put the ornaments wherever he felt like. This was tough for me, not gonna lie, lol. So, the tree doesn't look perfect by any means, but it was decorated with love ;) My usual "perfect tree" ideal was shelved this year anyway due to Blake being so little (no breakables on the bottom half of the tree...), so this year was as good a time as any to let Logan go haywire with the ornaments. We ended up with an extra strand of lights so I wrapped some around the handrail of the stairs. Feeling a bit festive around here!

We're having Logan's 3rd birthday party this weekend while we're visiting home for a wedding, and I know a little someone that is just so excited he can hardly contain himself! :) Each day he asks (multiple times, I might add) if it's his birthday yet. I'm excited for him!

Now back to my holiday to-do list...the Hallmark Channel Christmas movie & my chocolate covered popcorn :)

Acorns & 3 wheeled cars

My Logan quotes for the week:

*points to fallen coconut in our yard*
L: is that a big acorn?

*turns his Thomas the Train bike over*
L: one, two, three...
Me: yes, your bike has three wheels.
L: just like Tomber! (the three wheeled car from the Cars movie)

We were shopping in Publix the other day when Logan just busts out singing the ABCs. No big deal, except I'd been trying to get him to sing it for forever now, and e finally did it! (The whole thing, by himself!) go Logan!

Me: do you want to watch Amazing Alphabet or Numbers Ahoy?
L: No, the one on the right. *points to the screen*

What the heck?? Lol. But yes, the one on the right was indeed the one he wanted to watch...the things this guy remembers!

Melissa & the kids came to visit this past weekend, and we had so much fun as usual! :) between playing at the neighborhood park, A Latte Fun play area, and mall play area, we managed to stay pretty busy! Melissa and I even got to have a girls night out - dinner at Carrabba's and a quick trip to Marshall's for some Christmas shopping. And on Monday before she left, we braved five kiddos at the portrait studio. Yes, that's right, we were the crazy people with five impatient children waiting at Picture People, lol. But we got some good photos so it was totally worth it!!
